Although the Grove Neighbourhood Centre is temporarily closed, staff and volunteers continue to work behind closed doors, keeping in touch with and supporting the elderly and single household residents in the community.
Staff and volunteers are shopping for the most vulnerable who are self-isolating as well as delivering two course meals to 40 people each Friday. This service is provided and delivered by staff, volunteer cooks and drivers.
We are now at full capacity providing shopping and meals to our most needy residents, however, if you are in urgent need of help, please do not hesitate to contact the centre on 02087413321 – The centre will do what they can to assist you even if it means finding you another organisation that has larger facilities and personnel to help with your request.
Due to the Coronavirus and the enforced lockdown, they have suspended the hiring of the halls and rooms. This means the main source of income has ceased. The Centre is pursuing every avenue of financial support that the Government and other funders are offering. This takes time and the centre is uncertain when these funds will become available if at all.
Therefore we are asking you to consider making a monetary donation to the Grove Neighbourhood Centre however small. Your support will help the centre carry on the important work they are doing within the community – and help ensure the centre continues to survive at the heart of the Brackenbury Village and Hammersmith communities.
